“A Flame”
Nature Imagined.
Laughter rings out. A distinct sound of a match striking, invades his ears as the potent smell of gasoline envelopes his lungs. His brother loves to prank, but no, something is wrong. A deafening explosion engulfs him in flames. His skin sizzles like bacon on the stove, 10,000 razor blades are slicing his flesh. The pain. He goes limp, pure black soothes and ultimately yields new life. “Hi, my name is Brandon,” I hear, as his face fixates my gaze. His face. Skin like stucco, scarred, mangled, disfigured; forever changed in a singular moment, by a flame. His piercing big brown eyes, beckon for friendship. Today, I found a new friend.
Nature Refined.
